What is Ballet of Lights?
Ballet of Lights combines classical dance with modern visual elements and offers a fresh perspective on one of the world’s most traditional stage arts. Four talented ballerinas bring the plot of a well-known fairy tale to life in a compact version, accompanied by an atmospheric soundtrack of famous classical works. The dancers perform in costumes that are adorned with sparkling lights and impressively emphasize their choreography with every movement. The combination of traditional dance and modern lighting technology creates a performance that will delight ballet novices and seasoned aficionados alike.

The 60-minute show is suitable for audiences aged 5 and over. More stories will be added to the program in the future, but for now you can enjoy the following performances:
Ballet of Lights: Cinderella in a radiant show
We are all familiar with the story of Cinderella, who has to work hard for her stepmother and stepsisters until one day she wins the heart of the prince at the royal ball. The origins of the fairy tale date back to 1697 , when “Cendrillon” provided the basis for today’s Cinderella story. Later, the Brothers Grimm included the story in their collection and “Cinderella” was established. Cinderella ultimately owes its worldwide musical fame to Sergei Prokofiev’s 1945 ballet version.
Ballet of Lights builds on this interpretation and adds a sparkling twist. Look forward to a dazzling dance performance, accompanied by musical greats such as Tchaikovsky, Debussy and other classics, and experience how Cinderella finds happiness with the help of kindness, courage and a touch of magic.
Ballet of Lights: Sleeping Beauty in a sparkling show
The story of Sleeping Beauty is deeply rooted in the world of medieval fairy tales and found its literary beginnings in Charles Perrault’s French version. The timeless motif of the sleeping princess who awakens through the kiss of true love has enchanted people all over the world for centuries. In Ballet of Lights, the well-known story shines in a whole new light: luminous costumes, graceful movements and Tchaikovsky’s masterful music merge into a sensual spectacle of light, dance and sound.
From October, you can experience the spectacular dance shows at the Rudolf Steiner Haus on selected dates. Admission starts around 30 minutes before the event begins and you can choose between different seating areas and price categories. As seats are limited, it is best to secure your tickets quickly.
