What is Peaky Blinders?

The BBC drama series by Steven Knight ran for six seasons from 2013 to 2022. It follows the rise of the Shelby family in 1920s Birmingham, an English industrial city shortly after World War I. Under the leadership of Tommy Shelby, the group expands its business empire and strives for political influence.

And then there’s the soundtrack. The series is known for combining its historical setting with modern rock—a contrast that’s perfect for dark, powerful arrangements by candlelight. The set list includes “Red Right Hand” by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, the series’ theme song, and “Do I Wanna Know?” by the Arctic Monkeys. Anyone who finds themselves tensing their shoulders at the very first beats of the intro knows exactly what we mean.
