The armchair can’t be adjusted properly, your neck is uncomfortable and there’s not enough room for your legs – everyone knows this problem from conventional movie theaters. So sometimes you ask yourself: why not just stay at home, snuggle up under the covers and enjoy a movie night in comfort? But what if we told you that you can experience both pure comfort and a movie theater atmosphere at the same time?
That’s right: the first bed cinema in southern Germany has been making exactly that possible since September 2021 – a unique movie experience awaits you at the Traumpalast Leonberg not far from Stuttgart! Experience an exclusive movie experience like you’ve never experienced before – perfect for a family day out with the kids, a relaxing weekend or a romantic date.
Lean back, put your feet up and a bag of crunchy popcorn in your hand – only possible in the bed cinema!
The Traumpalast Leonberg has a total of 12 movie theaters, including the Bed Cinema room. This room is equipped with 20 high-quality double beds, each suitable for two people and thus offering space for up to 40 guests. Here you will experience maximum comfort, which can be individually adjusted thanks to the electrically adjustable reclining positions of each bed.
The beds are also upholstered in leather and offer privacy. You can place your snacks and drinks on the private “bedside table” next to your bed. Doesn’t that sound like the perfect setting for an unforgettable movie night?
But that’s not all! In December 2022, the Traumpalast was named the cinema with the largest screen in the world by Guinness World Records. In addition to the impressive IMAX screen measuring 39 x 21 meters (815 m²), the cinema center also offers moving seats – the D-Box Motion Seats. These move in sync with the movie plot and make immersion in the film seem particularly realistic
The perfect weekend adventure in Baden-Württemberg
With a journey time of around five hours, the Bettenkino in Leonberg is of course not a stone’s throw away – but we have a few convincing reasons why a trip there is really worthwhile. Sure, the Hanseatic city offers lots of great activities for a family day out, but experiencing movies on Germany’s largest IMAX screen and visiting the country’s largest amusement park at the same time? That’s hard to beat!
Bettenkino is located in Leonberg near Stuttgart – only about an hour away from Europa-Park Rust, which has been named the best theme park in the world for the ninth time. Our tip for the perfect day out: start your day at Europa-Park in the morning and end it comfortably at the Bettenkino in the afternoon. Sounds like too much for one day? Then just take two! That way you can experience the best of Baden-Württemberg in a relaxed way.
And one last insider tip: the medieval gem of Rothenburg ob der Tauber is also very close by – a town straight out of a picture book, with impressive museums, town walls and historical flair. The perfect additional stop for culture and history fans!
