2025 is slowly drawing to a close and New Year’s Eve plans are already being made. If you don’t have an idea yet or are looking for something new, then a trip to the south of Germany is the ideal plan. On December 31, 2025, Munich’s long-planned New Year’s Eve mile will celebrate its premiere – and is set to be the largest in the city. It could not only become a rival to Berlin’s traditional party at the Brandenburg Gate due to its size, but also impress with its program. Instead of traditional fireworks, you can expect spectacular light shows, lasers and rousing (live) music. Experience visual and acoustic highlights in a class of their own. A completely new concept that unites creativity, innovation, technology and sustainability in a unique way.

What awaits you on Munich’s new New Year’s Eve mile
Between Siegestor and Odeonsplatz, you can expect a big New Year’s Eve open-air show with spectacular light displays, art installations, live concerts and a diverse selection of street food. The highlight of the evening is a completely new concept: instead of traditional fireworks, a “firework of the future” will light up the sky. Laser and light projections draw impressive images into the night and create atmospheric, festive moments as Munich welcomes in the New Year.
Experience innovative laser projections and spectacular video mapping that transform the historic architecture into a fascinating play of light. Live acts and DJs will get the crowd dancing with a varied mix of pop, party, singer-songwriter, hip-hop and electronic beats. There will also be plenty to eat and drink: numerous stalls will be offering delicious food and refreshing drinks.

The trend towards sustainability
What at first seems almost unimaginable is now proving that sustainability doesn’t have to be a mood killer – on the contrary: it can also provide spectacular moments and protect the environment at the same time. New Year’s Eve doesn’t need pyrotechnics to be spectacular and unforgettable. Instead, the historic buildings along Ludwigstraße are illuminated on New Year’s Eve with large-scale, artistic light installations, video mapping and an elaborate laser show that reaches its climax at midnight.
Look forward to a unique New Year’s Eve experience – environmentally friendly, relaxed and in the best of company. See the new concert for yourself on December 31 on Munich’s first big New Year’s Eve mile.
