Con molto amore, freshly prepared antipasti, homemade pasta, Neapolitan pizza and other Mediterranean delicacies are created in this kitchen. We are of course aware that a city as culinarily diverse as Hamburg has many Italian gems to offer – but not every one of them is so authentic, both in taste and interior, that it feels like a true declaration of love to Italy. At Edmondo, part of the Big Squadra, you’ll feel like you’ve left the Hanseatic city behind as soon as you enter. After all, why should a visit to a restaurant be all about the food when it can also be an experience for all the senses?
Need proof? No problem – we’ve tried it. For you (and a little bit for us too).
Edmondo – Where Italy begins as soon as you taste it.
We have to start all over again – because there’s a lot to report. As soon as you enter Edmondo, centrally located at Hohe Bleichen 17, in the stylishly redesigned premises of a former bank dating back to 1897, you immediately feel a sense of well-being. Modern furnishings, combined with lovingly selected furniture and decorative elements reminiscent of different regions of Italy, create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Surrounded by fine materials such as marble and harmonious color tones, you immediately feel exclusively welcomed here. A particular eye-catcher is the striking bar wall with its seemingly endless selection of liqueurs – not only a visual highlight, but also the source of creative moments of pleasure. Whether it’s a Spritz Bellini, a good glass of wine or one of the many exclusive cocktails, every meal tastes even better with the right drink.
And now to the essence of the Edmondo: the cuisine. Under the direction of head chef Angelo Tirintino, a culinary world is created here in which everything from Italian classics to refined specialties is prepared with a lot of amore. When fresh ingredients, craftsmanship and genuine passion come together, the result is this restaurant’s menu. On it: the famous truffle pasta – not just an eye-catcher on Instagram, but a real taste experience. It is freshly prepared at the table, handmade and refined with high-quality black truffles – an absolute dream.
But it’s not just pasta fans who will get their money’s worth here. Alternatively, we can warmly recommend the Cacio e Pepe risotto: creamy, spicy and delicious all round. Another highlight is the hearty tomahawk steak for two, perfectly grilled and served to perfection. And, of course, there is also a selection of Neapolitan pizzas – fresh from the oven, with an airy crust and topped with the best ingredients. And what better way to round it all off than with some dolci?
We couldn’t resist and tried the tiramisu. It is served fresh from the tray straight onto the plate – homemade, creamy and simply heavenly.
Our conclusion: The Edmondo not only delighted us with its culinary delights – it was like a short vacation on the Italian Riviera. From the very first moment, we felt completely pampered: the stylish ambience, the friendly staff with expert advice and, of course, the food – a feast for the senses. An all-round experience that we wholeheartedly recommend. We will definitely be back – con piacere!
