As if Hamburg didn’t already have enough culinary gems – from Michelin-starred restaurants to trendy superfood bars – another hotspot is now joining the city’s culinary landscape. A new Japanese restaurant on the iconic Beatles Square on the Reeperbahn has secured its place as our new favorite in Hamburg’s gastronomic heaven.
With traditional elements of Japanese cuisine, an elegant, modern interior and culinary quality at the highest level, Restaurant Nara at the Hotel am Beatles-Platz clearly stands out. Exclusive fine dining meets urban flair here – an experience that will not only get your taste buds dancing, but also fill your camera roll with Instagram-worthy content. And how do we know that? Because we were there ourselves – and can tell you first-hand what we saw, tasted and experienced.
New Japanese restaurant on Beatles-Platz: Restaurant Nara
Not just a highlight at first glance – but also at second, third and every subsequent bite. The menu at Restaurant Nara impresses with a diverse selection that really does cater to every taste. Sushi lovers and fans of fine raw fish creations in particular will get their money’s worth here: the rolls are wonderfully crunchy, high-quality and a real dream in terms of taste. The flambéed oysters? They couldn’t be fresher or more aromatic. The sashimi is served wafer-thin, the rice is perfectly tempered – and the caviar toppings are the icing on the cake. A pleasure at the highest level.
Meat lovers will also get their money’s worth here. Nara’s specialties include not only sushi and fish creations, but also the lamb chops, which are truly in a class of their own. So tender, so aromatic – we have rarely tasted better! Alternatively, you can opt for the perfectly prepared entrecôte – juicy, cooked to perfection and full of flavor.
If you prefer to stick to the Japanese line, you should try the karaage with grilled lemon: a traditional Japanese chicken dish that is golden brown and wonderfully crunchy on the outside, but wonderfully juicy on the inside. A real comfort food with character!
Nara doesn’t just serve hearty food – it also has a great range of drinks and desserts. Whether as a prelude or accompaniment to the meal: The creatively composed cocktails are not only a real highlight in terms of taste, but also visually. Of course, something sweet is a must for the grand finale – and what could be more fitting than a matcha dessert, as we know it straight from Japan? This is where creative presentation, finely balanced composition and intense flavor come together. A dessert that doesn’t just cater to Instagram trends, but really impresses. Probably the best matcha dessert we’ve ever tasted!
Conclusion: We were thoroughly impressed by the new Japanese restaurant Nara on Beatles-Platz. From the stylish ambience to the lovely table decorations and the elegant interior to the first-class quality of the food – everything is just right here. We really have nothing to complain about and can only warmly recommend a visit. If you don’t stop by, you’re missing out!
