Of course, Hamburg is conveniently located at a place on the map from which many beaches are easily accessible. On both the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, there are numerous great places where you can enjoy that pure vacation feeling. However, this often requires a longer journey, which involves more time, planning and – you know – more stress. For those who prefer to travel a little further out of the city and escape the hustle and bustle, we have already put together a guide – with beautiful nudist beaches near Hamburg. But for those who prefer to stay in the city but still want to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy their freedom without clothes in the upcoming season, we have just the thing.

Which nudist beach are we talking about?
And it’s no less a destination than Boberger See, which is very popular with many nudists. The bathing spot is located in beautiful heathland and is accessible free of charge. In the western tip of the Hamburg district of Lohbrügge, there is an artificial quarry pond that is part of the “Boberger Niederung” nature reserve. The Boberg glider airfield is located to the north of the lake and there is a small wood right next to the lake. The shore is mostly overgrown, but there is a small but fine sandy beach at the main bathing area on the north-eastern shore. The nudist area is located on the southern shore. This is by no means a murky, dirty lake – the water is mostly clear and of very good quality.
The ground beneath your feet is soft and consists of sandy mud that feels like a gentle massage on your skin. You can therefore swim completely freely and naked on this nudist beach – with a pure vacation feeling. It’s best to pack towels and blankets so that you can enjoy a delicious picnic and unique sunbathing between the woods in the sand.
Getting there by train: The nearest S-Bahn station is “Mittlerer Landweg” on the S21 line. From there, you can reach the lake on foot or by bike either via the Boberger Torfsee parking lot or via the Billwerder Billdeich and the Billebrücke bridge on Billwerder Kirchenstieg. Please note that the access roads to the lake are closed to motorized vehicles.
